When there is sun there appears to be rain not too far behind. Sunday was so pretty and today we woke up to rain. There is a peaceful feeling in the hospital today as new people have come in and others have gone home for the week. The weekends have proven to be a very busy time in the NICU, but the peace is always a welcome feeling.

Ayden is enjoying his time out in the open. He has been sleeping very well. I have not seen his eyes open for an extended period of time since his bath on Saturday. We must have tired him out pretty good. He continues to gain weight and grow. His highlight since Saturday was being held by his Aunt Carrie. Ayden will melt into your arms as you hold him.

Breagan is still showing signs of maintaining his body temp. He needs to be at least 1800 grams (Just a little over 4 lbs.) before they will allow him into the open air like Ayden. Other than that, Breagan is doing just great!

Carmen was put back onto her vitamins yesterday. This puts her back to where she was just before the set back last Wednesday. So far, so good. The doctors will continue to monitor her feeding and making sure that all goes as it should.

All three are currently being dressed in clothes to help facilitate the maintaining of their body temperature. This is pretty momentous as they had been just wrapped in a blanket with the temperature of the Isolet turned up.

The kids are awake very little. Sometimes they will open their eyes for about 15-20 minutes while they are being feed. This has been my play time and opportunity to see the kid's eyes. Evidently because of the good nature of the kids and their willingness to sleep most of the time, taking care of the babies has become a coveted assignment for the nurses. We have been getting a lot of nurses that float between floors. It has been fun to meet the different nurses and hear their stories of their education and life in general. We have also enjoyed seeing and hearing from the original nurses that took care of the kids as they were born. Several of the original nurses have poked their heads in to say "Hi" and check on the babies. They are pretty pleased with their work as it directly reflects on their ability to do the jobs that they love so much. What a job, holding and taking care of babies all the time. We have been truly blessed!
