January 31, 2008

Today was a big day for us. We were anticipating news with Baby "C" whether good or bad.

Baby "C" is still gaining weight but is still at a lower level than the boys. Today the boys weighed at 2 lbs. 3 oz. Baby "C" gained 3 oz. to bring in a total of 1 lbs. 6 oz. Compared to last weeks appointment the umbelical artery for Baby "C" appears to have increased it's supply to the baby so we hope for good things in weeks to come.

The news about Baby "C" was great but we found another hurddle to jump over. Melissa thought that she had been feeling the babies move the past couple of weeks. We found out that the feeling she felt was actually contractions and that her cervix had dialated to 2 cm. This concerned Doctor Lee and he immediately ordered a wheel chair ride for Melissa across the street to the Hotel St. Lukes.

Melissa was starting into labor and Doctor Lee felt that the time was imminent to stop the labor. As I know of this posting, Melissa will be in the hospital until Monday-Tuesday of next week. If the labor is successfully stopped then she will be allowed to continue bed rest at another location in Boise. Melissa's older sister Mary, and her family, will then gain 2 more bodies to join their family.

Mary and Jason have graciously opened their home to Melissa and Taylor. Melissa will thus continue to reside in the Boise area until we will be able to bring the babies home.
